Meow House Adoption Event
PetSmart Apex 1031 Beaver Creek Commons Dr. Apex, NC 27502
(919) 363-4056
Cat adoption day. Come and meet us and the kitties! Although our founders have been rescuing cats for many years, our roots truly began to grow in May of 2012. During this time, we became aware of the dire situation at Harnett County Animal Control where many animals on death row face euthanasia. Although we did not know we would turn into a rescue then, we agreed to take cats who did not find rescues or adopters before their time was up, and attempted to find them loving homes. Each week we took the last few who would have otherwise been left behind and as our numbers grew, we made the decision to officially start a cat rescue based out of Raleigh, NC. https://www.meowhousecatrescue.com/

Pawfect Match Rescue
Petco 172 Grand Hills Place Holly Springs NC 27540 (919) 552-0033
At Pawfect Match Rescue we believe that ALL dogs deserve a second chance regardless of their breed or age. We take a different approach to rescue. We don’t try to save the masses; we just save ONE at a time and make them the best dog they can be by the time they find their forever homes.
By that we mean that we take them into our homes where they live amongst us and our pets and are treated as one of the family, not as a foster dog.Besides the basics of crate training and house training, we teach them basic obedience, we groom them, feed them a high quality dog food, and last but not least, we shower them with LOVE and attention that hopefully teaches them to trust again and realize that life really IS good.. Monty's Home PO Box 821 Burgaw, NC 28425 910-259-7911
In May 2008, Monty's Home received state approval to start its Pawsitive Partners Prison Program (PPPP) the first companion dog prison training program in Southeastern North Carolina, the largest in the state.
Working closely with the administration of Pender Correctional Institution in Burgaw, NC, a dedicated team of volunteers developed a program that not only benefits rescued animals, it benefits the inmates involved in the program as well. Monty's Home trainers select five dogs from a local shelter.
After temperament evaluation, heartworm testing, spay/neuter and vaccinations, the dogs enter the PPPP. Dogs live at the facility and specially screened inmate-trainers take them through a nine week training course. After graduation, the dogs are adopted into the community as family pets and five more shelter dogs enter the program. To see dogs available for adoption Click Here.

Heartworm Awareness -Mosquitoes are bad this year.
Please Use a Preventative! Protect Your Pets!
Heartworm disease is a serious and potentially fatal disease in pets in the United States and many other parts of the world. It is caused by foot-long worms (heartworms) that live in the heart, lungs and associated blood vessels of affected pets, causing severe lung disease, heart failure and damage to other organs in the body. Heartworm disease affects dogs, cats and ferrets, but heartworms also live in other mammal species, including wolves, coyotes, foxes, sea lions and—in rare instances—humans. Use heartworm preventative! Consider donating some preventative to your local shelter.
